Propylene glycol methyl ether acetate (PGMEA), also called propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate, with molecular formula C6H12O3, is a colorless and hygroscopic liquid with special odor, a non-public solvent with polyfunctional groups. It is mainly used as a solvent for ink, paint, ink, textile dyes, textile oil, and also used as a cleaning agent in the production of liquid crystal display. Flammable, may form explosive vapor/air mixture at higher than 42°C.
It is a high grade industrial solvent with excellent performance and low toxicity, and has strong solvency ability for both polar and non-polar substances.
