Cyclohexane, is an organic compound, chemical formula C6H12, colorless and pungent liquid, insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, benzene, acetone and other most organic solvents.
When the temperature is higher than 57ºC, it is extremely flammable, and the steam and air can form an explosive mixture, which is easy to burn and explode in the case of open fire and high heat. Contact with an oxidant causes a strong reaction and even combustion. In a fire, the heated container is in danger of exploding. Its steam is heavier than air, and can be spread over considerable distances at lower levels, catching fire when the source of fire returns.
This product is used for complexing titration of copper, iron, silicon, aluminum, calcium, magnesium, etc. Standard for chromatographic analysis.
