Magnesium Oxide (Heavy)
Magnesium Oxide is a white powder, soluble in acid and ammonium salt solution, slight soluble in water. Its slow action with water can produce magnesium hydroxide. CAS#1309-48-4. It is a source of magnesium.
Usage:
As a Mineral Supplement, it is used to prevent and treat low amounts of magnesium in the blood.
In Medicine, magnesium oxide can be used as antacid, to relieve heatburn, sour stomach, or acid indigestion. It also can be used as laxative for short-term, rapid emptying of the bowel.
