Sweet, pleasant odor, like chloroform
Dichloromethane, an organic compound with the chemical formula CH2Cl2, is a colorless transparent liquid with a pungent odor similar to ether. It is slightly soluble in water, ethanol and ether. Under normal conditions, it is a non-combustible solvent with low boiling point. When its vapor becomes high concentration in high temperature air, it will generate weakly burning mixed gas, which is commonly used to replace flammable petroleum ether, ether, etc.
product use:
1. Used for grain fumigation and refrigeration of low pressure refrigerator and air conditioning unit.
2, used as solvent, extractant, mutagenic agent.
3, used in the electronics industry. Commonly used as a cleaning agent to remove oil.
4, used as dental local anesthetic, refrigerant, fire extinguishing agent, metal surface coating cleaning and degreasing agent.
5, used as an intermediate in organic synthesis.

operation cautions |
Avoid droplet production and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during operation. Avoid releasing steam and fog droplets into the air of the work area. Operate in a specific area with good ventilation and take the minimum amount. Emergency response equipment should be available at all times to fight fires and deal with spills. Empty storage containers may still contain hazardous residues. Do not operate in the vicinity of welding, flame, or hot surfaces. |
Storage precautions |
Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated place away from direct sunlight. Store away from heat source, flame and incompatibilities such as strong oxidant, strong acid and nitric acid. Store in a properly labeled container. Unused containers and empty drums should be tightly covered. Avoid damage to the container and inspect the tank regularly for defects such as breakage or spills. Containers are lined with galvanized or Phenolic resin to reduce the possibility of decomposition of methylene chloride. Limited storage. Post warning signs where appropriate. The storage area should be separated from the staff intensive work area and restricted access to the area. Use plastic pipes that are designated for use with substances to discharge toxic substances. The material could build up static electricity which could cause combustion. Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated place away from direct sunlight. |
