Product Description

This product is a volatile, unstable colorless oily liquid with a chloroform-like odor. Toxic. With most organic solvents miscible, slightly soluble in water. Density 1.18066g /crr13. The boiling point is 116. 11ºC. The freezing point is -57.2 ºC. Vapor pressure (20ºC)1.666kPa. Viscosity (28ºC)
1. 03mPa-s. Refractive index 1.4382. Flash point (open cup) 40.6ºC. Spontaneous ignition point 415.6ºC. Upper limit of combustion (volume %) in air is 21.O, lower limit is 3.8.

This product is used to synthesize glycerin, epoxy resin, nitroglycerin explosive, glass steel, electrical insulation products of the main raw material. Used as a solvent for cellulose ester, resin and cellulose ether, but also the production of plasticizers, stabilizers, surfactants and neoprene rubber raw materials.

This product is highly toxic, can be absorbed into the skin, irritating the skin and mucous membranes. Higher concentration, have anesthetic effect. When poisoning occurs, there are stinging eyes, conjunctivitis, rhinitis, tearing, cough, fatigue, gastrointestinal disorders, nausea and other symptoms. Severe poisoning, can cause anesthesia symptoms, and even cause lung, liver, kidney damage. Human inhalation MLC20× 10-6. Rat transoral LD50 90mg/kg. The maximum allowable concentration in the air is l8mg/m3. Production equipment should be closed, air should be circulated, and operators should wear protective equipment. In addition, epichlorohydrin has a violent tendency to self-polymerization and should not be heated in an open flame to prevent the container from bursting. When used as a reagent for reaction, should be diluted with inert solvent, and slowly add.
Because ferric chloride or tin chloride can promote the occurrence of epichlorohydrin self-polymerization reaction, it is suitable to be stored in dry and clean galvanized iron drums, 200kg per barrel. Store in a cool, ventilated, dry place, away from fire and heat sources. Store and transport in accordance with regulations on inflammable and toxic goods.
